Bring Literacy to Life for Your Students

Interactive author visits designed to engage students with decodable texts while reinforcing foundational reading skills.

  • What Is an Author Visit?

DREAMS KC Author Visits are engaging, literacy-focused experiences that introduce students to decodable texts in a way that is interactive, accessible, and meaningful.

Students are not just listening to a story—they are actively engaging with text, building confidence, and connecting reading to real-world understanding.

Each visit is designed to support foundational literacy skills while creating an experience that students remember.

  • More Than an Author Visit

This is not a traditional author visit focused only on storytelling.

Each experience is intentionally designed to support literacy development and can be extended beyond the visit through access to decodable books.

Extending the Experience

Author Visits can be paired with bulk book purchases, giving students immediate access to the texts introduced during the visit.

This allows learning to continue beyond the event—supporting reading practice, confidence, and consistency at home and in the classroom.
